Golden hahnii, a member of the Sansevieria genus, is an evergreen perennial. It can tolerate both shade and drought. They don’t require a specific soil type. These plants are tolerant of a wide range of conditions and are perfect for people who don’t have a lot of time to care for their plants. Snake plants are easy to care for, and they produce oxygen at night, making them perfect for bedrooms. They also help filter out toxins from the air, making them ideal for homes. The plant features stiff, sword-like leaves and can range anywhere from six inches to eight feet tall. Snake plants can vary in color although many have green-banded leaves and commonly feature a yellow border
Light:
Keep the plant indoor with bright indirect natural light or bright artifical light. Protect the plant from direct harsh sunlight
Soil:
It doesn’t require a specific soil type and grows well in sandy loam or humus soil with good drainage.
Water:
Regularly in summer reduce in winter and rainy season.
Fertilizer:
During the main growing season feed the plant with organic fertilizer once a month.
Temperature and Humidity:
This Bird’s Nest Snake Plant is happy in places with temperatures between 15°C and 23°C and can cope in as low as 10°C for short periods. Golden Hahnii will do fine in normal household humidity. Avoid humid locations but if brown tips develop, consider occasional misting.
Pruning:
Propagating Snake Plant:
- Gather a sharp knife, a clean pot, and cactus potting soil.
- Pull the root ball out of the old pot and place the plant on a flat surface. Using your hand, gently brush away the soil.
- Using the sharp knife, divide the plant into sections, making sure the roots for each section remain intact.
- Replant the new snake plant sections into a clean pot with cactus potting soil.
- Water it and place it in a partly sunny location.
