Product Description:
The Pachyveria plant is a hybrid cross between Pachyphytum and Echeveria. There are many varieties available, but most grow two to six inches tall and wide. Pachyveria ‘Powder Puff’ sprouts during spring and summer, and in that time of the year you’ll be able to spot bell-shaped pinkish-orange little flowers in hanging clusters on a separate stem growing from the center of the plant. This succulent forms loose rosettes of ‘chubby’ and fleshy leaves that won’t die after flowering. Pachyveria has Greek origins and it means ‘Thick Leaves’.
Light:
Most varieties of succulents need at least half a day to a full day of sunlight.
Soil:
Pachyveria exotica grows best in a well-drained cactus soil using a pot with a drainage hole.
Water:
After planting, water in well and allow the soil to dry between waterings. Water when soil is dry and the sun is shining. Succulents don’t like to have wet feet.
Fertilizer:
Most succulents need very little fertilizer. Watering with a well-balanced fertilizer once a month will be all they need.
Temperature:
However, if placing the succulents outside in warmer temperatures during the summer months, protect them from too much direct sunlight by providing them with some shade. During the winter, they will fend-well indoors. Give them plenty of light to ensure good and compact growth.
How to Propagate Pachyveria:
Propagate this succulents from stem cuttings. Use both leaf cuttings and stems with complete rosette can produce new plants but stems will produce faster results. When using a stem cutting, wait for the cut surface dry for a few days. Place the stem cutting in moist cactus soil and keep the plant out of direct sunlight. After a few days, the cuttings will begin to take root.
