Raat ki Rani or Night Blooming Jasmine is an evergreen shrub native to tropical regions like West Indies, India, Bangladesh, South East Asian nations, etc. Raat ki Rani flower or Night Jasmine flower is a very fragrant white flower which blooms in the nighttime. Night Jasmine Flowers are greenish-white in color with a very strong sweet perfume-like heavenly fragrance. The fragrance is so strong that one Raat ki Rani plant is sufficient to spread scent in your entire house.
Light:
The plant does best in bright light, so make sure it gets a minimum of 4-5 hours of direct sun every day.
Water:
Water the soil deeply and thoroughly whenever the top of the growing medium feels dry to touch. Refrain from watering the plant every day.
Temperature:
The plant responds well to the temperature range 15°C – 30°C.
Soil:
The plant grows best in well-draining soil with a pH between 6.5-7.5. You can also DIY by blending 35% of soil, 30% of sand, and 35% of organic compost.
Fertilizer:
Use balanced liquid fertilizer at half the recommended strength once in 4-6 weeks. Refer to the label for instructions. You can also use organic compost, leaf molds to enrich the soil quality.
Pruning:
Lightly prune the shrub right after flowering. Also, snip away back old, diseased, damaged, or criss-cross branches from time to time.
